Features
A cookbook that cooks with you
Recipes are for reading. Flourhands is for cooking — hands floury, phone across the counter, dough on its own schedule.
Full-screen Cooking Mode
One step at a time, in type you can read from across the kitchen. Swipe through with the back of your hand — no tiny buttons.
Notifications that wake you
An overnight rise doesn't need you watching it. Hand the wait to Flourhands, close the app, and get woken the moment the dough is ready.
Scan any recipe
Photograph a cookbook page or a handwritten card, and AI turns it into a clean, scalable recipe in your cookbook — ready to cook.
Cook as a household
Invite the people you actually cook with. A shared shelf holds the household's recipes, and a quiet feed shows who cooked what tonight.
Scales to your table
Cooking for two, or for twelve? Change the servings and every quantity re-scales — highlighted right inside the step where you need it.
Private by design
No ads, no analytics, no tracking. Your recipes stay yours, private recipes stay private, and you can delete everything in one tap.
How it works
From flour to fresh-baked, in three steps
Flourhands carries a recipe from "that looks good" to "get up, it's time to bake".
Fill your cookbook
Start with the published recipes, or scan your own from a photo. Save what you love; share it with your household.
Start cooking
Cooking Mode takes over the screen: one huge step at a time, timers where the recipe needs them, ingredients a swipe away.
Rest easy
When a long rest begins, put the phone down and walk away. A notification wakes you exactly when the dough is ready.
The showpiece
Built for the long rests
Great bread is mostly waiting. When a recipe calls for an 18-hour rise, Flourhands ends the session with a hand-off screen, schedules your wake-up, and lets you put the phone down with a clear conscience.
- The wake-up notification opens the app on the exact step you left
- Life happened mid-bake? Resume picks up right where you stopped — step four of nine
- Swipe down for the ingredient drawer, with every quantity scaled to your servings
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The short version: it's free, it's private, and it's almost ready.
Is Flourhands free?
Yes — completely. Every recipe and every feature is free, with no subscriptions, no ads, and nothing to unlock.
When can I download it?
Flourhands is iOS-first and in its final proof — it isn't on the App Store quite yet. In the meantime, the recipes won't rush; neither will we.
How does recipe scanning work?
Take a photo of a cookbook page or a handwritten card, and AI reads it into a structured recipe you can edit, scale, and cook from. Only the photo is processed — nothing about you is attached to it. Details in the Privacy Policy.
What's a household?
A small, invite-only group for the people you actually cook with. Members share a shelf of recipes and see each other's cooking activity — nobody else does, and there are no public profiles or followers.
How is my data handled?
Sparingly. There's no advertising and no tracking, and the full details are in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and data at any time — in the app, or via the data deletion page.
How do I get help?
Head over to the support page and email us — a real person reads every message, and we aim to reply within two business days.
Ready when your dough is
